We’re Now an Etsy Star Seller

Some lovely news from the studio: Gigante Knits has been named an Etsy Star Seller. It’s Etsy’s top badge for service, and honestly, it’s one of the ones I’m proudest of, because you can’t buy it or switch it on. You earn it, one happy customer at a time. So first things first: thank you.

Thank you for making this possible.

So what is a Star Seller, exactly?

Etsy looks at every shop’s service over a rolling review window and, each month, awards the Star Seller badge to the ones that consistently hit its highest standards. It’s not a subscription, a paid placement, or something you can turn on in settings. It’s Etsy quietly checking whether a shop actually looks after people, and only then handing over the badge.

The bits you have to get right

There are four, and you have to keep hitting all of them at once:

💬
Speedy replies. Answer messages quickly: no leaving people waiting days for a question about their order.
📦
Smooth dispatch. Ship on time, with tracking, so orders turn up when they should.
Rave reviews. Ours has stayed a perfect ★5.0 since the shop opened, comfortably above the badge’s bar.
🧾
A minimum level of sales. The part people never mention: Etsy only even considers shops that have made a minimum number of orders in the review window. So it isn’t something a brand-new or occasional shop can earn; it means real orders, from real customers, handled well, month after month.

Etsy’s own scorecard: speedy replies, smooth dispatch and rave reviews: all four badges, for July.

You can’t buy this badge. You earn it, one looked-after customer at a time.

Why it matters if you’re buying from us

Buying from a small shop online always comes with the same quiet worry: will it actually turn up, will it be any good, and is there a real person on the other end if something goes wrong? The Star Seller badge is Etsy’s shorthand for “yes, yes, and yes.” It says this shop dispatches on time, keeps its buyers genuinely happy, and answers when you get in touch.

Here’s Etsy’s own description of what it stands for:

Etsy's definition: 'Star Seller. This seller consistently earned 5-star reviews, dispatched on time, and replied quickly to any messages they received.'
Straight from Etsy: what the badge actually certifies.

And it’s the same shop whether you buy on Etsy or here on giganteknits.com: same wool, same patterns, same person packing your order and answering your messages. The badge just makes that promise a little more official.

This one’s really yours

Every one of those four marks comes down to you: the orders you placed, the reviews you left, the questions you trusted me with. So while the badge sits on my shop, it’s honestly a shared one. Thank you for the kind words, the patience, and the photos of your finished cardigans. They genuinely make my week.
